How do.

Page under development… for now, go back to my youtube.

What's with the name?

The name is a bit of a play on words between trails and trials I suppose. I love the outdoors and nature, and one of my earliest memories of nature documentaries was David Attenborough’s series, Trials of Life. I loved that series and I’ve still got it on DVD. As the name suggests, it just observes the tough trials that animals go through to survive. The channel name was supposed to be a bit of a spin on that, as it wasn’t just about the outdoor trails, but also the trials of every day life, just getting by. Anyway, I’ve said trials/trails too many times now I’ve lost track of which is which.

The story behind the ‘O’ isn’t as interesting. Every handle, channel and tag for Trails of Life / Trailsoflife was taken, so I made it O’. It also matches how I say it anyway, so it sort of made sense.

THE PURPOSE

“We don’t have a lot of time on this earth. We weren’t meant to spend it this way. Human beings were not meant to sit in little cubicles staring at computer screens all day”. – Peter Gibbons, Office Space (1999)

BEER SNOB

One random evening in 2017 I was in the basement of Old No7 in Barnsley playing a regular session of Dungeons & Dragons with my friends, holding a trusty pint of £2.35 Acron Blond, the same drink I’d had every day throughout uni with no change. A friend of mine presented this shiny can with funky illustrations on it which caught my eye. It was a Double IPA by the name of Human Cannonball, by Magic Rock Brewing (RIP) in Huddersfield. I took a sip and from that moment on, I knew beer would never be the same agian.

Yes, it’s just a drink. Also, no. It’s not just a drink. There’s a culture, a history, a story behind every beer and it’s held a massive place in my life since then. I love visiting pubs, trying new breweries, exploring different styles. I log every beer I have over on the untapped app, so if you want to follow me over there, feel free.
